From getting ready at home to stepping onto the train, here’s how your journey will unfold when service begins. Station signs and staff will guide you along the way.

01 / PREPARE

Check your travel documents

Have your passport and required entry documents ready. Check the destination country’s current entry requirements before leaving home.

02 / ARRIVE

Go to your departure station

Use Bukit Chagar for travel to Singapore, or Woodlands North for travel to Johor Bahru. Give yourself time to settle in and complete departure checks.

03 / TICKETING

Get your ticket ready

Once ticketing details are announced, use the operator’s method and keep your ticket or travel credential handy as you move through the station.

04 / BORDER CLEARANCE

Clear both countries before boarding

Follow the departure route through the co-located Customs, Immigration and Quarantine facilities. Complete both countries’ checks before proceeding to the train.

05 / PLATFORM

Check the destination display

Follow platform signs and confirm your destination. Wait behind the marked safety line and keep the door area clear. Ask station staff if you need assistance.

06 / BOARD

Let passengers exit first

Wait for the doors to open, then board calmly and mind the gap. Move inside, keep bags clear of doors, and hold a handrail if standing. If the doors begin closing, wait for the next train.

On arrival: Leave the train and follow exit or interchange signs. Both countries’ immigration checks are completed at departure, so there is no repeat immigration clearance at arrival.

As opening approaches: These steps describe the planned journey, with general train safety advice. Check the operator’s final ticketing and boarding instructions, and current entry requirements, before your first trip.
